Heated Jackets for outdoor fun

I was going through boxes upon boxes of old photographs the other day and I saw this really goofy photo of me and my old man hunting back in Minnesota. It was so funny. We had really silly outfits. Not because we wanted to look silly but just because we had to wear tons of layers of clothes just to keep warm. I remember I couldn’t even move. My old man and I were laughing so hard we almost fell down and couldn’t get up. Literally!

Thank God I discovered the glorious world of Heated Jackets! Yeah, I know it sounds redundant. Heated Jackets. I mean, what are jackets supposed to do but keep us heated, right? But seriously, these heated jackets are the best thing to happen to outdoorsmen like me.  Wish I learned about it earlier.  It would have saved ma tons of embarrassing moments and saved me from the discomfort of feeling trapped under layers and layers of clothing.

These heated jackets, the ones from Ventureheat in particular, use some kind of advanced (and very thin, might I add) micro alloys to keep the jacket heated for long periods of time. And by long, I do mean very long. I wore my heated jacket out on camping trip one time. And from night till dawn till I woke up, the warmth was still there inside my sleek heated jacket.

But I think the best thing about my heated jacket is how really lightweight it is.Before, I used to wear tons and tons of layers and we all know how useful our arms get during hunting when you’re wearing six jackets, two sweaters, and something wooly and itchy just for laughs. Not so much when you were heated jackets though.  Basically, if you have a heated jacket, then you’re good to go.

I can’t wait to go camping, hunting, skiing, jogging, anything!

I just wish my old man was still here. I wonder how he’d like this heated jacket thing. He would probably love it as much as I do.  Actually, I think he’d love it even more.

Hunting Tip #5 – The Heated Vest

Last week, if some of you, readers, remember, I shot my first mighty buck. Yes, sir, my first wild buck. And if you also remember, I said that I had a secret weapon for catching that buck and that I would share my secret weapon for all you wilderness loving guys reading this blog right now.

See, my secret weapon is not a weapon per se. It is not a new type of gun or a hi-tech bullet which makes things easier for both expert and amateur hunters alike. No. For you see, the best weapon any expert outdoorsman can still wield is his body and his own skills. But, of course, sometimes we need a little help too. And that goes double during winter time when weather is extremely erratic and you won’t know how cold the night can get until it gets there.

And that is precisely the same reason why I bought for myself a heated vest. As a seasoned hunter, camper and, in general, a lover of all things outdoors, I know how tough it can get. The weather can be relentless for beginners who don’t know the secrets of layering clothes and keeping heated. But then again, layering can also hinder movement which could prevent you from making your first big catch.

With the heated vest, however, you can virtually forget about layering and go about your hunting expedition without much of a fuss regarding the dropping temperature surrounding you. The reason for this is because the heated vest both stores and provides you with soothing heat every time you may need it.

Like a typical vest, the heated vest can store residual body heat for long periods of time. But unlike the said traditional vest, the heated vest can also provide users with heat every time they turn the stealth heating devices, cleverly embedded inside the vest itself, on. Barely noticeable, if even noticeable at all, the heating elements inside the heated vest can take the place of most layers of clothes. So all you may need to do is put a couple of shirts on and then, put on your heated vest, then you’re good to do.

And the best part about heated vests is that they don’t have sleeves! Training marksmen like me no longer have to deal with missing a shot because a jacket’s bulky sleeves got in the way. With the heated vest, bagging your first trophy catch will be as easy as bang, bang, boom.

Have You Heard about Heated Jackets?

And they’re also quite durable. It started raining and the wind was really howling at some point during our trip, but my heated jacket was still ok. I still have a couple of tests in mind, but I guess those tests are for another trip and another blog post altogether.

I can’t wait to go camping, hunting, skiing, jogging, anything!

I just wish my old man was still here. I wonder how he’d like this heated jacket thing. He’d probably love it as much as I do.

Base Layer: Keeps You Comfortably Warm

If you are the kind of man that just loves the outdoors, then a heated base layer is what you need. Although there are other heated apparels in the market, the base layer can provide you with the utmost comfort without any worries about lost heat.

What are the activities where you can use this?

Some of the outdoor activities that you can use a heated base layer are the following:

1. Motorcycle rides – Nothing beats a ride during the early morning. Now if you don’t have any heat generating apparel, then you are likely to have cold feet. Not to mention cold hands, arms and torso. With the heated base layer, you can ride all you want without any worries about losing precious body heat.

2. Camping – Men love to camp. But what will you do when the sun sets or when the cold winds come in? In this case, you can either put a blanket over your shoulders or wear layers of clothes. Either way, it just isn’t fun when you constrict your movements. You see, having heated apparel gives you back that lost mobility and makes you enjoy the activity better.

3. Construction – If you are a working man, then you will definitely need some sort of cold protection. For instance, construction workers are always exposed to extreme weather conditions. Now what will you do when it is just too cold for your body? You can either sit out the cold or be more productive by wearing heated apparel. The heated base layer is one of the many heat generating products out there that can greatly aid you in times of need.

4. Golf – If you want to be a great golfer than you must practice. But how can you practice well when you are freezing? The truth is that weather is really unpredictable and you will never know when the cold winds will come. To be safe and to play well, you should purchase heated apparel so that you can play continuously and never lose the momentum.

5. Skiing – It is a well known fact that skiing requires that you wear some sort of cold protection. But, if you look at most skiers, they tend to have huge jackets on. Although this is ok, you will observe that their movements are constricted. Again, you can never enjoy an activity when you are limited. But by using a heated base layer, you can literally wear a light jacket over it and that’s it.

Deciding upon investing in a heated base layer takes time. This is because you have to factor in whether you really need it or not. But, when you think about it carefully, almost all activities require that you are comfortable, hence free from the effects of the cold. So essentially, it will be a good buy to purchase this heated apparel.
